From September 1st you will be able to bring in your film rolls to be sent off for professional processing at their state-of-the-art development and scanning lab.

How Does it Work?

Approx. 2 weeks from drop off.

We send film batches weekly.

Once film has been received in the film lab, Ikigai generally operates on a 3 to 7 business day turnaround, but this may be longer during peak periods.


Prices start from

$12 for film development (only)

$19 for film development and standard scanning (C-41 35mm)

Ikigai will send you an SMS notification when theyreceive your film.Please wait for the SMS to arrive before reaching out.

If your film is still within the turnaround period provided when it arrived, please wait until that period has passed before getting in touch for an update.

PLEASE NOTE: The Artists’ Store cannot provide an update about your film processing once sent to Ikigai. All questions must be directed to Ikigai support@ikigaifilmlab.com.au

Ikigai develop C-41, E-6 and B&W film in 35mm and 120.
They DO NOTdevelop 110, 126, 4x5, 8x10, Super 8, 16mm or disc film.

Yes. Disposable cameras are the same price as regular rolls, and all you need to do is send the entire camera in. We have a special tool to remove the film.

Yes, due to repeated quality issues. this list includes but not limited to:

All expired rolls are scanned on the Noritsu. Ikigai are unable to scan expired film on the Frontier due to fogging. If you've chosen Frontier and sent in expired film, we will scan it on the Noritsu instead.

Ikigai offer two resolution tiers.
Standard is approximately 8" at 300 DPI. Pro is approximately 12 to 16" at 300 DPI.
Standard is perfect for small to medium sized prints or web use.
Pro is better for large prints, or if you want the maximum resolution our scanners are capable of.

Scans are delivered as .jpg files in the Adobe sRGB colour space.
Ikigai deliver files via a Dropbox link to your mobile phone. The link itself won't change from order to order, so feel free to bookmark it on a computer and all your future scans will show up in the same place.

Ikigai store your photos online for 90 days. Download them as soon as you get your link to be safe.

Ikigai currently stores negatives for 1 year.

No, Ikigai don't offer develop and print.

No, sorry. You must set up a customer account with Ikigai to receive updates and files.

No, sorry. Neither business prints photos for customers, you will receive digital scans only.

No need to come back as you will receive updates and files from Ikigai directly to your phone.
